In my efforts to reduce my carbon footprint, I make intentional purchases, including preloved items and supporting smaller brands. Since that 2021 pledge to buy better, I have discovered that you must have Black-owned brands on your holiday shopping list.
When one develops a mindful style, these decisions warrant doing homework. For example, details about product production, the material source, and whether the brand has a mission statement are important.
One of my first discoveries was Estelle Colored Glass, a vintage-inspired hand-blown glass product for setting a beautiful table. All my holiday tablescapes now include Estelle’s jewels for the table.
How about the recycled pure cashmere accessories from the Vintage Kasmir Etsy store?
My second-hand Pennsylvania House cherry convertible table in March earlier this year, was a fabulous find right here in Central Pennsylvania.
