Goodbye to Company cars. Say Hello, to My Alpha Romeo Stelvio
Last month, I retired from the pharmaceutical industry after 26 years. During my time there, as a representative, I had the privilege of being provided with a corporate vehicle. That perk allowed me to drive safe and reliable cars for all those years. However, now that I have retired, I have decided to say goodbye to company cars and say hello to my Alpha Romeo Stelvio.

When considering retirement, I knew I wanted a nice set of wheels, especially after driving basic cars for so long. After visiting the Pennsylvania Auto Show last month, which featured the latest vehicles, including SUVs and crossovers, that event provided a one-stop shop to consider the possibilities—knowing my heart’s desire for an Audi Q5 or a Volvo XC60.

Volvo XC60, not a Alpha Romeo Stelvio

For most of January, I spent time virtually shopping to compare SUVs. Still, it wasn’t until I went to the PA Auto-show that I could experience the vehicles up close and ask questions to assist my decision-making. The Audi Q5 was a no-go; it didn’t feel right. However, the Volvo XC60 caught my eye, especially with its Overseas Delivery Tourist program that includes a trip to Sweden. Initially hesitant about the program’s timeline with delivery not until later this year. I ultimately changed my mind about the Volvo. I so wanted that Swedish car-buying experience.

The Alpha Romeo Stelvio

But then I saw the bustling Faulkner Maserati area, specifically the Alpha Romeo Stelvio. One thing about luxury vehicles is that they have most of the bells and whistles. And all the latest safety features. The staff on hand quickly accommodated my interest in this unfamiliar SUV. After luxuriating in the front seat, I took a business card and scheduled a test drive.

I wanted my first experience of buying a new car in 26 years to be memorable and exciting. Faulkner Maserati, from the moment I walked into your showroom, I felt appreciated. Thank you, Steve, Kassie, and Keith, for helping me understand the dashboard, the Alpha Romeo App, and all the nuances of operating a new vehicle. You have set me up for success.

As always, thank you for stopping by The Age of Grace.
