Happy New Year! And adios to 2023. Every January, I embrace the fresh start that the new month brings. This year, I’m only carrying forth the wisdom and strength I’ve gained.
But first, before welcoming the new, I must go down Memory Lane to look at past intentions and where I deliberately spent my time.
I appreciate the little things in life: opportunities as a garden enthusiast, staying connected with family and friends, exploring exhibits, my annual traditions, and traveling near and far.
When I started my blog in January 2013, I aimed to have a platform inspiring women over 50 to age gracefully and strive for excellent health. Tell me how I did.
January: 10th Blog Anniversary
February: Always Discreet Partnership
I am thankful for opportunities for a paid partnership with Proctor & Gamble early in the year.
March
Awe Inspired Jewelry was my first experience using captions and UGC.
April: Fashion-focused posts for the entire month.
Denim on denim, IG Over 50 influencer Spring Fashion style link-up, and wide-leg pants.
May: The COVID-19 pandemic paused our annual Memorial Day weekend Black-tie event for two years. Back again in 2023.
In June, as a member of the Pennsylvania Historical Society, I took advantage of purchasing tickets to spend the day at the lavender gardens at the historic Warwick Furnace Farms.
July: Ventured to New Hope for al fresco dining on the Delaware River and experienced the Baltimore Museum of Arts 50 years of hip hop exhibit. We finished that day with dinner at Magdalena’s at the Black-owned Ivy Hotel.
August
Hubby and I vacationed North by Northwest to the Canadian Rockies and British Columbia and
My daughter, Channing, and I indulged in a Sip & Script Calligraphy class.
September: Annual Birthday celebration at the Spa at the Hotel Hershey.
October: Laura Geller x Wheel of Beauty Product Launch in NYC.
November: Longwood Gardens annual Christmas display
December: EpicLight Beauty Product Launch in NYC.
My first invitation as an influencer to cover the local Pennsylvania Christmas + Gift Show.
I ended the year by returning to Longwood Gardens for lunch at the fabulous 1906 restaurant and then traveling less than six miles to another DuPont estate, Winterthur. Why? For the Ann Lowe African American Couturier exhibit.
Let’s not forget the women’s health awareness posts this year:
Female Incontinence
Know the Risks of Heart Disease
Hot flashes
Fall Into Good Health
My last influencer promotion was with OMFG Gummies for brain health. As I mentioned on my Instagram Reel, “You don’t get high; you get good.” Functional mushroom gummies that provide natural solutions and support:
🧠 Mental clarity and focus
📚 Improves learning and memory
Supports nerve cell health
⚡️Enhances Mood and boosts energy
😎 Tasty Source of Vitamin C and Minerals
And I would be remiss if I didn’t include the wonderful quarterly styling group, The Magnificient 8. Last year’s style statements included the following:
January: Pantone color of the year, Viva Magenta
April: Blazers
July: Maxi Dresses
October: The Color Red
As you can see, I’m comfortable shopping my closet, reworking what I already own, and incorporating new pieces. Wide-leg pants continue to be my go-to look. They are comfortable and especially great for pear-shaped individuals like me,
As always, thank you for following me on this journey. I hope you are looking forward to a fabulous 2024; I am.
