Are any fellow flower enthusiasts looking for a fun floral event? Discover the beauty and power of flowers at the PA Horticultural Society’s 2024 Philly Flower Show, United By Flowers.
As a PHS member, I joined about 13,000 fellow flower enthusiasts to preview this year’s flower show, United By Flowers. I saw at least half of the 13,000 as we waited until the doors opened at Noon at the PA Convention Center. The annual show officially begins on Saturday, March 2, and closes on Sunday, March 10, at 5:00 p.m.
We know spring is always near when I welcome this annual tradition to experience nature’s splendor and showcase the best floral designs and garden displays.
The 195th annual Philadelphia Flower Show didn’t disappoint. This year, florists and landscape designers got the memo on the United By Flowers theme. How about Robertson’s Florist of Chestnut Hill’s vibrant colored dinner display, united by flowers with geometric shapes? This is their 45th year participating in the Philly Flower Show.
Congratulations to the Black Girl Florists, a nationwide group with local connections! Why the congratulations? The group is making their second Philly Flower Show appearance this year. Their large display features three different iterations of a community sanctuary specific to African American women, the beauty salon.
I love seeing Black Girl magazines displayed as a hallmark of Black salons in the Black Girl Florists exhibit.

Tissarose Floral, a Black Girl Florist member from Philadelphia, represented herself for the second time at this year’s Philly Flower Show competition. Bravo for winning a Bronze Award! You can schedule a Pop-up Shop in your home or event space.
The Contessa is a stunning Italian mannequin by Lea Romanowski, Janet Black, Carolyn Daley Brady, and Shannon Toal.
A Third Prize Yellow Ribbon Award: Tablescape: Unbirthday Tea Party Prescription. Horticulture in healing.
Who wants to drive a red MG sportscar for a cross-country road trip? This USDA Hardiness Map by Jennifer Designs will guide you along the planting trail. Jennifer used preserved fresh blooms for her map. (not my photo)
Nevertheless, I didn’t forget to mention the exhibit at the main entrance exhibit, the Edges and Reflections creation of the PHS team. All I can say is WOW! It is a fantastic, eye-catching, massive blast of color display with the soothing sounds of water and floral clouds.
Above all, the Philadelphia Flower is the granddaddy of all flower shows dating back to 1829. All gardening or plant lovers will appreciate the diverse horticultural experience offered at this year’s show. Why? Whether planning a new landscape design, summer gardening, or learning about houseplants. You’ll find it at the Philly Flower Show.
Incidentally, It’s hard not to shop at Flower Show Marketplace for fresh flowers, house plants, gardening tools, and landscaping choices. To my heart’s delight, I found two plants I’ve not located in Harrisburg: the fragrant blooming Nightime Jasmine and a Schefflera Alpine.
After a long day exploring the Flower Show’s ten acres, take a relaxing train ride to Paoli. New traditions are equally essential in tending to the long day of walking, with pedicures at Sage & Grey and dinner at Estia Taverna in Radnor.
In conclusion, thank you for joining me on my annual journey to the Philly Flower Show. I hope you enjoyed the experience and appreciate your interest in The Age of Grace.
