It’s lovely to have a month dedicated to recognizing women’s achievements. Women have contributed to society for over a century, but their accomplishments often go unnoticed. Recently, I attended the Jersey City Women’s History Brunch, which applauded women in the fashion industry.
Fashion Creative Consultant Elliot Carlyle, I am grateful for the invitation to attend an event devoted to the accomplishments of phenomenal local females in the fashion industry.
I’m incredibly thankful for the Women’s History Brunch & Panel Discussion’s Jersey City location rather than Manhattan since the St. Patty’s Day celebration was gearing up in NYC. The green celebration is not without street closings and thousands of people committed to honoring St. Patty.
Jersey City is a beautiful urban hub. I welcome the panoramic view of the NYC skyline from the waterfront—the incredible Bayfront development—which makes for a great photo moment.
Jersey City Council President Joyce Waterman sponsored the Women’s History Month event at the Exchange Place. The brunch included a panel discussion led by CaSandra Diggs, the CFDA’s former president and founder of Chapter 702 Consulting.
Panelists:
MaryAnn Grisz, President & CEO of Fashion Group Internation (FGI)
Albania Rosario, Founder and Creative Director of Fashion Designers of Latin America (FDLA)
Keely Bembry, Costume Designer & Fashion Editor
The business leaders’ inspiring journeys in their respective fashion lanes and the opportunity to connect and fellowship with females in fashion are inspiring and empowering. It was a pleasure to meet:
