Happy 9th Anniversary to my blog, The Age of Grace.
It’s no coincidence that I started blogging the day dedicated to remembering the legacy of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. I, too, had a dream that my voice could make a difference for women in midlife.
I recall wanting to document aging gracefully.
As I was going full speed into midlife, my first bucket list item, completing my first and only Nike’s women’s half-marathon in Washington, D.C.
Years ago, I discovered from the Strengths Finder book that one of my strengths is being a connector. As we age, generally, our circles shrink. So it is vital to one’s health to find ways to stay connected.
All the social media platforms make it easy to stay connected. However, there isn’t always a sense of community, even with all the different avenues to engage, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Clubhouse, and Pinterest.
You have to find your community or tribe if you will. No matter what, life is always about building relationships and cultivating them for long-term mutual benefit.
In 9 years, I interviewed other women aging with faith, style, and grace highlighted in my Women of Grace series; you may remember that je nais se quois element that each of them possesses.

Let’s not forget organizing and teaming up with the Fierce 50, now called Forever Fierce: Midlife Matters, and all those MeetUps since 2017.
There were many brand collaborations, but the piece of resistance as a blogger was when I won a free makeover and trip to NYC from AARP, Sisters, in 2019.
I committed nine years ago to have a midlife voice that speaks to aging gracefully and health awareness, posting at least once a week. I’ve published nearly 500 posts.
Happy 9th Anniversary to my blog, and thank you for enjoying the ride with me.
