I’m thrilled 2020 is in the rearview mirror. Today, America’s get to turn the page on a new chapter with the momentous events this week in January.
First off, today’s date, 1/20/2021, the most anticipated palindrome of the year. A palindrome is a word, phrase, or sequence that reads the same backward or forward.
So many firsts this January 20, 2021
The History-Making Inauguration Day:
♦ Joe Biden, the oldest statesman to assume the Presidency
◊ Kamala Harris, first-ever African American Asian American, Madame Vice-President
♠ Doug Emhoff, Jewish, and Second Gentleman
Jon Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock, the first Democrats elected to the U.S. Senate from Georgia since 2000
“Such a time as this” as quoted in the Book of Esther. The encouragement to see the elder statesman’s dream of the presidency come to fruition today.
243 years in the making. Kamala and her husband Doug, breaking the glass ceiling typically reserved for people who don’t look like them.
January 6, a heavy day for America. Today, I took off to witness this historic day. It’s a new time day season chapter to build new memories in Washington, D.C.
I pray the Biden Harris administration has the wherewithal first to combat the pandemic. Then the long-overdue reckoning of race, unemployment, and the economy.
As always, thank you for reading, stay safe, wear your mask, and social distance.
