Happy Birthday to Style Star Angela Bassett, she turns 61 this week. Some women defy age, Ms. Bassett is one of them. Did you see her Instagram photo posing in a bikini last year when she turned 60?
I caught her interview with Allure Magazine, where they queried her youth-sustaining secrets. People have asked the actress forever, “What do you do, what do you eat, how do you stay…?” She works with a personal trainer two days a week when she’s home.
Another spotlight, an InStyle interview asked the style star, How Do You Care For Yourself? “It’s constant. Last week it was about getting the yearly physical and mammogram. My doctors tell me that my physiology, my makeup, thrives on being physical. I’ll go jogging or walking, and Yoga is usually a little slow for me. I prefer to lift weights or run on the treadmill, maybe do Pilates.”
The actress, also a director, and producer commented, “As we advance 60 is the new 40, or 70 is the new 50. It keeps getting pushed. But you have to keep the stress down and the attitude hot,”
Angela born in Harlem and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida She has a set of thirteen-year-old twins and is married to actor, Courtney Vance since 1997.

My first recollection of the powerhouse Bassett, in 1995, the movie, Waiting to Exhale playing a woman surprised by a divorce. How about that closet scene? And of course, her matron role in the superhero movie, Black Panther.

It’s great to see the actress is in high demand, especially with society’s preoccupation with the way women look as they age. In 2018, Bassett stars and produces the Fox Broadcasting Company first responder drama series 9-1-1.
