Coco Chanel (August 19, 1883 – January 10, 1971) is the best example of her style. She wore trousers on holiday, mixed costume jewelry with the real pieces, and created the luxury leather 2.55 bag in 1929.  Why? She tired of carrying her handbags in her arms.

In 1926, Chanel lifted black as the color of mourning as the go-to color of elegance with her little black dress. American Vogue described ” The Chanel Frock – that frock that all the world will wear.”

According to Karl Lagerfeld, “One is never-over-or-underdressed with a little black dress.”  After 35-years at the helm of the French fashion house, Karl Lagerfeld continues the timeless classic style and spirit of Chanel as well as modernize the brand.

The Spring-Summer 2018 eyewear campaign is featuring fashion British model and activist, Adwoa Aboah, photographed by Karl Lagerfeld.  The black and white photo portraits accentuated by a white turban and staple Chanel white pearls.
