Spring doesn’t start for another 10 days, but the warm weather this weekend made it seem even closer. I am ‘spring forward’ with the nice weather as I train for the Nike Half Marathon happening next month. I welcome the longer days of sunlight even if my precious sleep hours have to be sacrificed. It was the perfect opportunity to walk longer in nice weather.

Today’s post shows me wearing my Kate Spade quilted green jacket that I purchased on sale last year; this is my first opportunity to pull it out of the cedar closet.  Although I am not generally a fan of darker colors as you can see from previous posts, I have always been fascinated with how certain colors are very prominent every season regardless of where you look. I view colors worn and colors that you surround yourself with as an expression of whom you are.  Interestingly enough, colors are chosen every year by Pantone, The Color Institute.

Did you know that before choosing the color of the season that the company hosts a secret meeting in Europe twice a year and after two days of presentations and debate, they chose a color for the following year.  Who knew??

Below are the colors that they chose for Spring/Summer 2013:

Usually, I like to celebrate Spring’s arrival by attending the annual Philadelphia Flower Show–the world’s oldest and largest indoor flower show. Here, I can get my dose of color and enjoy the aromas of all the forced bloomed flowers along with the other 300,000 people that usually attend during the week long event. I wasn’t able to attend this year due to a death in the family, so I’ve been getting my dose of Spring with my clothing choices.
