Hats Off
One of my favorite things to do is watch black-and-white movies. You know, the ones with great storylines, where the girl always gets the guy, and all issues are resolved in two hours. Women were sophisticated and elegant in their matching ensembles, with their handbags, gloves, and hats.

When I attended a funeral recently, I was reminded that hats were once a staple in many women’s wardrobes, regardless of their social status. At the funeral, I saw a parade of white hats. Perhaps this is typical funeral attire for the wives of dignitaries or bishops. I’m not sure. However, I did enjoy the selection and styles, especially my sister-in-law’s hat. The hats at the funeral reminded me of being a child wearing my new Easter hat, gloves, and handbag.
