I remember my first day as a pharmaceutical sales rep with AstraZeneca over 17 years ago. I temporarily relocated to Da’Burgh, Pittsburgh, that is. My accommodations included a one-bedroom apartment in North Hills near the regional office of AstraZeneca in 1998. Why? The training included not days, not just weeks, but three months of face-to-face classroom study with trainers.
My, how things have changed. Technology has exploded in a significant way that affects our daily lives in how we communicate, shop, and learn. I recall when I interviewed for this sales position, I was asked many times over about my ability to maneuver the different programs of the computer. I asked myself how hard this computer can be. Speaking of technology, my first cell phone was the Motorola bag phone with an external antenna. Does anyone else remember that cell phone?
