My holiday season began with a visit to Longwood Gardens, where I enjoyed their magical Christmas exhibits. Soon after, I received an invitation to the Laura Geller Beauty Italian Holiday dinner at Amali in NYC. Grazie!

Longwood Gardens’ Most Magical Season
How do you celebrate the holidays? Since childhood, I remember my parents organizing different activities to help us enjoy the season. Does anyone remember the Gimbel’s Thanksgiving Day Parade? ย Or walking through the Christmas villages at Wanamaker’s, Strawbridge, and Lit Brothers? I created holiday traditions with my children. Even as an adult,ย I like to […]
Teatime at The Ivy Hotel in Charm City
Unsurprisingly, I find Afternoon Tea delightful and elegant, especially during my recent teatime at the Ivy Hotel in Charm City. Part of the allure of the Ivy Hotel is the opportunity to explore the exclusive interior of this magnificently restored 1889 mansion. The original owner, a wealthy homeowner, commissioned architect Charles Carson to design the […]
Holland Ridge Farms Fall Flowers
I made the most of the remaining mild autumn weather by visiting Holland Ridge Farm Fall Flowers for their last U-pick event. As you know, I love flowers and glory in seeing the Philly Flower Show and Longwood Gardens annually. And most recently, the Holland Ridge Farms Tulip Festival in New Jersey.
The New Akwaaba Tea Salon in Philly
Are you a tea enthusiast? Have you recently enjoyed afternoon tea? I recently indulged in this beloved tradition at the new Akwaaba Tea Salon in Philly. The new Akwaaba Tea Salon is in the Powelton section of Philadelphia, just down the street from another Akwaaba venue. The Tea Salon/Powleton Village received historical designation in 1985 […]
Salamander Middleburg, A Premier Resort
Hubby and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary at Salamander Middleburg, a premier resort in Loudoun County, Virginia. I learned that Loudoun County is the wealthiest county in the United States, with its abundance of horse farms and wineries. It’s no wonder Sheila Crump Johnson chose this area to establish her real estate empire.
Our 40th Wedding Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Trent Hargrove, today, September 8, marks our 40th wedding anniversary.
A Weekend Getaway to Charm City – Baltimore
Living in Central Pennsylvania has perks, including quick getaway trips. Recently, my husband and I decided to take advantage of this by going on a weekend trip to Charm City, Baltimore. I discovered that one of Baltimore’s nicknames is Charm City. I wasn’t familiar with Baltimore’s claim as a charming city. Nonetheless, we all heard […]
A July Saturday Exploring New Hope and Peddler’s Village
ย Recently, my sister Tasha, daughter Channing, and I spent a July Saturday exploring New Hope and Peddler’s Village in Bucks County. Bucks County is one of those charming suburbs outside Philadelphia. Some rate New Hope overrated, but I have childhood memories of visiting this area with my mom. She looked for little ways to […]
“Do You Want to Experience Slow-Down Travel Hospitality? If So, Visit the Center of Portugal”
Do you want to experience slow-down travel hospitality? If so, visit the Center of Portugal. Since the COVID-19 health pandemic shut down, travelers, including myself, are reevaluating their travel experiences. I believe the correct term is transformational travel. This type of travel encourages one to disconnect from their busy lives to learn new skills and […]
