My Philly/Jersey friends, did you have the chance to witness the breathtaking beauty of spring at the 2025 Philly Flower Show, titled “Gardens of Tomorrow”? Unfortunately, I missed the exclusive members preview day hosted by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society. Instead, I spent the weekend at the extraordinary Candlelight Concert at the Baltimore Museum of Art, where I enjoyed a stunning performance of “The Best of Bridgerton on Stings“.
Nevertheless, I did make it to the show. First, let me emphasize that the Philadelphia Flower Show is not just any event but the longest-running and oldest indoor flower show in the United States. It showcases the incredible talents of the gardening community. At this year’s show, I had the tremendous opportunity to meet Tissarose, the award-winning Black designer from Drexel Hill.
This year’s PHS Silver Medal, Tissarose, featured the breathtaking beauty of blue delphiniums, pink and yellow roses, anthuriums, moss, and ferns on an actual baby grand piano.
Tissarose has won several awards at the Philly Flower Show. Tanesha showcased her award-winning design at the 2024 event. Last month, I shared a post about the Black brands I support, including Tissarose.
Tissarose is a mobile florist that provides flowers for all occasions. Ladies, if you’re looking for a fun floral activity, call Tissarose for a floral party. She can come to your home or place of business. Also, Akwaaba Afternoon Tea Salon offers venue space to rent. I found it hard to contain my enthusiasm about meeting Tissarose that I had to share her accomplishments.
Now, onto the 2005 Philly Flower Show theme of “Gardens of Tomorrow” for more breathtaking beauty. How about the chandelier of blooms above the grand entry, which is a wow moment?
You couldn’t help but miss this floral delight display next to the Futura Florentia exhibit, part of the PHS grand entry.
Tulips, one of the first flowers of spring, are a must-see and exhibit at the Philly Flower Show.
The Imagining of the Heavenly Gardens by Simply Nia Design, Brooklyn, NY won a PHS Bronze Medal Award.
Matter of Time by Rashawn Scarbo, who teaches floral workshops in the Philadelphia Schools, won the PHS Bronze Medal.
Grass Stains by Apiary Studio received the Governor’s Trophy for the Most Unique and Innovative Design. It is a playful homage to children, who are the gardeners of the future.

Robertson’s Flowers and Events won the PHS Silver Trophy.
This year, I attended one of the Flower Show Artisan activities hosted by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS). It was the Potting Party, led by celebrity Tu Bloom, the official botanical artist of the Grammy Awards. It was a fun event where I created a planter and learned some helpful tips about summer gardening.
Mr. Bloom answered questions about houseplants and gardening. The pansy strawflower planter is a wonderful reminder that spring is in a few weeks.
As a garden enthusiast, I hope you enjoyed my sampling of some of the creations from the Philadelphia Flower Show, the granddaddy of all flower shows.
In closing, the 2026 Philly Flower Show dates are February 28 – March 8, 2026, with a member preview on February 27, 2026. You can join the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society’s email list to get updates on the show, ticketing, or memberships.
As always, thank you for stopping by the Age of Grace.
