As the MLK long weekend approaches, you have some extra time to ponder my question. Do you have an attitude of gratitude? Did you know that there are benefits to being grateful?
Research shows that grateful people tend to be healthy and happy. They exhibit lower levels of stress and depression, cope better with adversity, and sleep better.
🤗 You feel better
😃 You will be friendlier and more optimistic.
🙂 Less self-centered
😁 Your memories will seem happier.
😙 You won’t be as materialistic.
😉 Your self-esteem will increase.
Since retiring one year ago, I have embraced these little luxuries in life:
Time
All dimensions of self-care
A long walk
Great Health
A quiet mind
Slow mornings
Daily Meditation
Afternoon cup of tea
I reflect on the little luxuries I enjoyed and appreciate the opportunities I encountered in 2024. Why? Fueling my passions, the beauty of nature as a garden enthusiast, the delightful experience of afternoon tea, and a new way to experience music with Candlelight Concerts? Of course, fashion and fine dining. Finally, as a nano influencer, I’m grateful for the paid collaborations and the gifting of beauty products to sample and share my findings.
We all agree that gratitude expresses appreciation and the quality of being thankful. When we practice gratitude, we train ourselves to feel gratitude to see the good in life quickly.
How to Be Grateful:
1. Keep a grateful journal
2. Participate in a Gratitude Challenge
3. Be Aware of the words you speak & the thoughts you think. Stop Negativity!
4. Do random acts of kindness as often as possible
Finally, gratitude is a reliable way to acknowledge the blessings we often take for granted today. Gratitude can become a lifestyle, and by cultivating the simple habit of counting our blessings, we can deepen our awareness of how truly blessed we are.
