Last evening was truly unforgettable. It was an evening filled with dinner and dancing with wonderful friends at the annualย Club 21 Dinner Dance in Hershey, PA.
Most people spend Memorial Day weekend getting together with families and friends or attending observances for fallen heroes; my hubby and I have a tradition of attending this elegant evening dinner dance.
Hubby joined the professional men’s social organization The Club Twenty-One in 1993. This organization has a rich history of professional men in central Pennsylvania since its beginning in 1946. The group continued to provide a social outlet for men of color who were denied access to public places in the 1940s.
Fast-forward to 2024, and the social group continues the long-standing tradition of a formal dinner dance on the Saturday before Memorial Day. The exclusive club has only twenty-one members, and membership is by invitation only.
Even though the invitations are no longer handwritten and mailed, these digital invites still set the tone for an elegant, unforgettable evening in Central Pennsylvania. Attending this event is only by invitation from one of the 21 members.
When we left yesterday to attend the event, torrential rain fell. We arrived early, and I was able to capture clear shots of the red-and-white-themed room and tables.
I hope you followed my Instagram stories, where I did a beauty countdown, preparing for the unforgettable event. Nevertheless, my husband and I love this occasion. Why? To reconnect with friends made over the years. To invite our intimate friends for a time to put on our best, dance, and have fun.
How about a round of applause for our guests:
You know it’s a good night when you can line dance in a long gown and heels. Why? And wake up the next day without pain.
What a great way to kick off the unofficial start of summer with an unforgettable evening of elegance.
