Banana Republic Sedona Linen Maxi Dresses

Maxi dresses are the Magnificent Eight styling group’s quarterly style statement. A long dress is a summer staple, and maxi dresses are unrestrictive and breathable.

Maxi Dresses for the Magnificent 8 Quarterly Style Statement

Wednesday, July 26, marks the third installment of the Magnificent 8 Style Statement series. As you may know, our group comprises eight generations of bloggers styling one agreed-upon theme each quarter. Earlier this year, we had our say with Pantone color of the year, Viva Magenta, and my not-so-pink Barbie Blazer.

Location: Riverhouse at Odette's; The maxi dresses are on trend this spring and summer. I wore this one to New Hope for Al Fresco dining.

This year, I’ve been on a roll with Banana Republic (BR) purchases. This linen white maxi dress fits the bill for summer chic. Why? It’s a fab look for a brunch date in New Hope at the River House at Odette’s on the scenic Delaware River. Bonus points to BR for this a-line figure-flattering linen that didn’t wrinkle after a two-hour drive.

Every wardrobe needs a few maxi dresses, especially in the summer. I call maxi dresses effortless dressing. Maxi dresses are a perfect look for an evening concert or a garden wedding with a change of accessories.

The same dress for Brunch with laced-up flat sandals, espadrilles, or sneakers with a macrame/straw bag.
For a Garden Wedding, block heels/sandals with metallic accessories.

Saturday, July 22, was perfect for al fresco dining with hubby and our daughter, Channing. The day’s temperatures were pleasant, in the mid-80s, with no humidity and a cool breeze from the river.

The lovely rebuilt River House at Odette’s is a boutique hotel. It is down the street from where General Washington crossed the Delaware River during the American Revolutionary War.
