How wonderful to get invited to the Laura Geller holiday soirée celebrating 25 years of beauty.
It was in 1997 when veteran makeup artist Laura Geller launched her beauty line on QVC, the home shopping network. The debut product, the contouring set called the Face Structuring Kit, sold out within minutes.
The 25-year Laura Geller product timeline:
1997: the Contouring kit
2002: Spackle Skin Perfecting Primer, considered the first primer on the market
2004: Baked Balanced – n – Brightened Foundation
2008: Baked Blush -n- Brighten
2009: Baked Natural Glow Highlighter
2014: Spackle Hydrate joins the primer family
2019: Laura Geller’s partnership with AS Beauty Group, a firm specializing in elevating women-owned beauty brands
2021: Decision to feature only models over the age of 40 in marketing campaigns
2022: Ms. Geller becomes the longest-serving beauty ambassador on QVC
Now that we have a little LG product backstory, how about this silver anniversary invite? The invitation set the tone for the festive and fun night at the tres chic bakery Ladurée Soho highlighting beauty and women over 50.
The best part of the party was meeting the real-life influencers I admire and follow. I finally met Elaine, Square Pearls. I featured this beauty in 2019 in my Women of Grace series.
Many familiar faces are in the room from the Uncommon Threads virtual influencer group that I joined to help support efforts that benefit financially challenged women in the Lawrence, Massachusetts, area.
How fabulous that each influencer received a swag bag with many iconic baked best-selling Laura Geller products. And many new ones: INKcredible Longwear eyeliners, lipstick, highlighters, and At Long Lash mascara.
Thank you, Laura Geller, AS Group, and my plus one, my daughter Channing, for accompanying me to NYC for an overnight stay.
