I’d rather talk about summer fashion and getting back to everyday living. However, I feel compelled to explore how the Delta Variant Is Looming Over Us.
By now, you may realize that I habitually ask rhetorical questions. Hopefully, I like to do detective work to help you and me understand what’s going on as a pharmaceutical sales specialist.
When the first two authorized COVID-19 vaccines launched earlier this year, little did we know of another emerging variant stirring concern.
By now, most, not all, Americans have received the required two doses, so now what?
My question is, do Moderna and Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines offer protection from the Delta variant?
Moderna and Pfizer say their COVID vaccines are highly effective against the Delta variant, protect against hospitalization, and reduce the severity of symptoms.
According to the World Health Organization, Delta is becoming the globally dominant coronavirus variant.
The Delta variant is a crucial contributor to India’s current infection wave. This variant replaced the Alpha variant as the dominant strain in Scotland. And is responsible for a notable increase in cases in the United Kingdom.
1. The Delta variant is about 43% to 90% more transmissible than the previous variants.
2. Infection symptoms (getting sicker faster) aggressive compared with those experienced with previous variants
3. It is rapidly spreading around the world
4. People more likely hospitalized with the Delta variant
The bottom line is to stay vigilant and protect yourself.
As always, thank you for reading.
