Nowadays, living in these unprecedented times is like rolling the dice when planning events, especially my milestone. Nevertheless, I say Happy 65th Birthday to me.
. First, hubby didn’t want to stay at a hotel or go out for dinner, so plan B. The Spa at the Hershey Hotel was always my first consideration to celebrate me for some self-care.
My daughter Channing and I planned to indulge in services from my Chocolate Spa Club membership at The Hotel Hershey. On the day of our services, one of the technicians called off, so I rescheduled our massages.
No worries, another option is to enjoy lunch at Trevi 5 at The Hotel Hershey. Perhaps because of the COVID-19 safety protocols, the few patrons at the restaurant made for a quiet, peaceful birthday meal.
I didn’t just kick up my heels for my milestone birthday; The evening of my birthday, I also participated in the 3rd annual Dress to Impress Gala for Suzanne’s Kanoff’s Uncommon Threads. This year, a virtual Facebook Live event. Why? Because of COVID-19, I provided the photo below for the Live Red Carpet and a donation.
I learned about Suzanne’s passion for helping low-income women in the Lawrence, Massachusetts, area when I met her in March 2018 at a Forever Fierce NYC Meetup. Ms. Kanoff started Uncommon Threads three years ago. The non-profit consignment shop serves as an empowerment boutique, boosting women’s self-esteem through the power of clothes.
My milestone birthday commemoration continues with Bestie Cynthia’s invitation to lunch at the relaxed upscale Greenfield Restaurant in Lancaster. One thing is for sure: the dining out experience is accommodating; they don’t mind if you’re late or linger after food has cleared.
Unprecedented times call for unusual gifts, mine, my Juvéderm splurge. Depending on how fast my body metabolizes products, the filler’s natural-looking results should last one year. Now, that’s a lovely gift with youthful effects.
How about you? Did you celebrate your birthday differently this year because of the Coronavirus? If yes, do tell.
As always, thank you for reading. Please follow CDC guidelines to help stop the spread; wear a mask and maintain social distancing as we enter another flu season.
