The Benefits of Juicing

Hello, Beauties. 🌸 Did you know you can get more nutrients from veggies by juicing?

By now, I don’t just talk fashion here at The Age of Grace. Participating in a weekly Wellness Wednesday collaboration prompted me to write content instead of just posting a photo on my Instagram.

Now, back to juicy G. My first recollection of anyone juicing was fitness expert, television host, and nutrition expert Jack LaLane.  Mr. LaLanne is sometimes referred to as the Godfather of Fitness. He lived until he was 96, so he must have done something right.

Most mornings, when time permits, I start my day with a healthy green smoothie. The concoction includes any green vegetable, but usually spinach or kale, a banana, blueberries, pineapple, and almond milk. Most of the items are ready to go in my freezer.

When I arrive home from work early in the evening, I eat just about anything and everything. To help curb the ravenous feeling, I drink a glass of vegetables by juicing beets and carrots with apples. I sometimes mix it with celery and cucumbers and throw in fresh ginger.

According to the Mayo Clinic, there’s no scientific evidence that extracted juices are healthier than the nectar you get by eating the vegetable. I know that when I juice consistently, I feel better, and my complexion looks brighter.

The only negative aspect of juicing is the machine’s clean-up. I usually place the removable parts in the dishwasher. However, a boatload of pulp leftover from the vegetables makes you wonder about its use.
