Every September, I purposely remind myself of all the chocolate goodness you can find in Hershey, Pennsylvania — “The Sweetest Place On Earth.”
This obsession with chocolate goodness dates back to September 8, 1984, when I married my husband at Hershey Gardens. Thirty-two years later, the historic landmark, four-star hotel has expanded with two major additions, including a full-service spa called The Spa At The Hotel Hershey, which opened in 2001.
As part of the hotel’s 75th-anniversary celebration, the $67 million building campaign known as “The Grand Expansion” included property upgrades and the addition of Harvest at the Hotel Hershey, a 130-seat restaurant in 2009.
When my hubby and I celebrated our 32nd wedding anniversary, it was appropriate once again to dine in Hershey, this time at Harvest—another farm-to-table venue inspired by local and regional ingredients in Derry Township.
The September chocolate goodness continued when I scheduled two-day beauty treatments. First, on my birthday, September 16th, I had Hydrafacial and an overdue hair coloring appointment in the morning—the evening dinner at The Circular At The Hotel Hershey. My hubby reserved a window seat in the circular dining room so we could observe the magnificent gardens while we dined during sunset.
The chocolate goodness didn’t end there. When I mentioned the Spa At The Hotel Hershey, my great friends, designer Cynthia and fabulous stylist Toi, joined me to renew, relax, rejuvenate, and reconnect. I can’t think of a better place to indulge in ultimate luxury. I felt pampered with the 80-minute Noche Azul (classic Swedish massage utilizing jasmine oil) and Cuban manicure.
Our beauty packages included a healthy buffet lunch in the Oasis. The ladies and I polished off the day at yet another restaurant on the Hershey compound, Trevi 5, for light Italian fare.
But wait, there’s more: a delivery of fresh chocolate-covered strawberries from Edible Arrangements from my new counterpart, Amber. Thank you, so thoughtful.
Finally, a special birthday thank you to a woman I worked for the last three years at AstraZeneca, an inspiration and advocate. Best wishes to you, Pam.
Have a fabulous and stylish week.

Jodie,
Hi! I know you have sweet memories from your visit to Hershey. Hopefully, you remember the street lamps shaped like Hershey’s Kisses and the smell of chocolate in the air.
