This time of the year nearly everyone takes time to celebrate Thanksgiving by counting their blessings and having a grateful heart. What would our lives look like if we develop an attitude of gratitude everyday in everything?
A positive attitude is linked to a number of health benefits both psychological and physical. Gratitude has the strongest link with mental well-being than any other character trait.
-
“With gratitude people take better care of themselves and engage in more protective health behaviors like regular exercise, a healthy diet, regular physical examinations,” according to University of California Davis psychology professor Robert Emmons.
Science shows that gratitude causes….
- More Energy
- Higher Emotional Intelligence
- More Forgiving Attitude
- Less Depression
- Less Anxious
- More Feelings of Being Socially Connected
- Better Sleep
- Fewer Headaches
- Ways to Express Gratitude:
- Keeping a Gratitude Journal
- Thinking About 5 Things Every Morning That You’re Grateful For
- Reflecting on Your Previous Day’s Celebrations While in the Shower
- Sending Notes of Appreciation to a Friend or Loved One
- Daily Prayer/Meditation
I am grateful for being in excellent health, being happily married for 31 years, for a wonderful supportive hubby, for working in the pharmaceutical industry for 18 years and for my son Tyler and his girlfriend Marie. Last but not least thankful for safe travels for my daughter and her BFFs that traveled to and from Thailand safely for Thanksgiving to celebrate their 10-year friendship.
I hope you are not just grateful at Thanksgiving but have an attitude of gratitude everyday in everything.
Have a fabulous week!
Stunning. Simply stunning. I love how you mixed several difference style types – from world traveler/magpie with the Anthro necklace, to 20s flapper with the fringe top, to romantic/classic with the textured tailored trousers. Bravo Sister. You look Stunning!
