Red Alert
It’s a red alert at ModCloth for the Pantone 2015 Color of the Year. Officially, it’s marsala, an earthy red wine. It’s not too soon to start planning a few key pieces for spring transition looks (you know they sell out early on the new colors every year). A ModCloth stylist approached me to showcase my ideas for layered pieces for spring 2015. I was able to highlight the color marsala using ModCloth clothing.
What I love about ModCloth is that the online retailer specializes in vintage, vintage-inspired, indie clothing, accessories, and decor. The husband and wife duo sells items from numerous brands, offering new products daily. In addition to original items, they sell single authentic vintage items from past eras. The company is headquartered in San Francisco and has ties to Pennsylvania. It was founded in Pittsburgh when the couple attended Carnegie-Mellon. Be sure to check out the ModCloth site if you love vintage-inspired clothing.
In early December 2014, the Pantone Institute announced the marsala as this year’s “it” color. I focused on Marsala because it is a quick and easy way to freshen up my wardrobe with the latest colors. After taking a gander at the ModCloth site, I see they read the memo about marsala; there was plenty to select in dresses, tops, and cardigans,
I chose the above cascading cardigan because it will flatter my pear-shaped figure. The complimentary polka dot bow-tied blouse is feminine and classic and a great layering piece. The wine booties top off this chic outfit.
In the above photo, the casual and edgy ModCloth is a tremendously comfy, warm cardigan that can easily be layered up or down. Paired with a fun striped tee shirt keeps this outfit casual and fun. Leather always ups the ante with the fab booties. And finally, leopard, the new neutral, as per Jenna Lyons!
Do you have a red alert for 2015? Let me know. Be sure to check out ModCloth’s awesome cardigan selections here. They have a variety of cardigans in all sorts of colors!
Thank you, ModCloth, for the opportunity to share my style ideas for spring 2015.
Hey Eugenia
Thanks for keeping us up on the latest! Love that Marsala color. Have to make sure I get some before it’s off the racks.
April,
Yes, it’s interesting to see what the newest color focus will be yearly as selected by the Pantone Color Institute. Thanks for stopping by and for your comment.
