Discover Chic Activewear at Chadwicks of Boston

BY: Eugenia PUBLISHED ON: Monday, January 9, 2017 IN: Collabs Fitness Talking Fashion Videos

As we seasoned ladies advance in age, let’s not lead a sedentary lifestyle which can lead to obesity.  It’s a new year and an excellent time for a new you in 2017. Do you have health or wellness goals? Are you actively inspired? Then you need to discover the chic activewear at Chadwicks of Boston.

As I shared in my post last week, I prefer to utilize a vision board versus annual resolutions. I find this relatively new practice helps me to stay focused as well as accomplish my short and long-term goals.

My wellness goals still include doing at least 10,000 steps daily. However, this year, I plan to incorporate more cardio activity into my exercise program explicitly. You know, with simple tasks like taking the stairs and parking farther from the store while running errands.

Metrostyle Purrfect Leopard Sweater
Leopard is one of this season’s must-have trends. I scored a Metrostyle purrfect leopard sweater for my recent vacation to Paris, France.

Full disclosure: I love to stand out in any crowd wearing elegant and chic classic attire especially for my age (61).  Sometimes it feels like our society expects women of a certain age not to be interested in fashion or style and to dress frumpy.

Light One Candle

Light One Candle

If you light one candle this holiday season, let it be a Bijou candle. I’ll tell you why.

Light One Candle

Years ago when our kitchen was remodeled, my husband and I noticed a soot-like film on the walls.  We quickly ruled out a gas leak and it wasn’t just a dirty wall. Little did I know that the candles that I love to burn everyday were releasing black fumes.  Most candles, like the ones I burned for years,  are made with a paraffin wax that contain arsenic and benzene. Who knew burning candles could be toxic?

#SeeSummertimeBetter

#SeeSummerBetter
All tell-tale signs that the season is changing are here: the farmers markets are selling mums, the crisp temperatures in the morning and late evenings, ragweed season started. Not to mention, the sun now sets around 7:45 p.m.

And even though I see fall creeping in with acorns already falling from the oak trees (during my 13,000 steps a day walks through my neighborhood), there is still plenty of time to #SeeSummerBetter.

Thanks to Warby Parker.

Bonne Bouche

Bonne Bouche

Bonne Bouche!  Wait, let me get this phrase correct since I have vague memories of my French classes in high school.  Better yet, let me get the correct definition so I don’t mislead you. According to the Webster, bonne bouche is a dessert being supremely delicious or appetizing. The definition goes on to say a choice morsel.

Bonne Bouche

Just so happens, July 14 is Bastille Day, the French National Day commemorating the beginning of the French Revolution. It started with the storming of the Bastille on July 14, 1789 as well as the Fête de la Fédération which celebrated the unity of French people on July 14, 1790.

Red Alert with ModCLoth

It’s a red alert at ModCloth for the Pantone 2015 Color of the Year.  Officially, its marsala, an earthy wine red. It’s not too soon to start planning a few key pieces for spring transition looks (you know they sell out early on the new colors every year).  I was approached by a ModCloth stylist to showcase my ideas for layered pieces for spring 2015.  I was able to highlight the color marsala using ModCloth clothing.

What I love about ModCloth is that the online retailer specializes in vintage, vintage-inspired and indie clothing, accessories and decor. The husband and wife duo sell items from numerous different brands, and every day they offer new products.  In addition to original items, they sell single authentic vintage items from various eras past.  The company is headquartered in San Francisco with ties to Pennsylvania when founded in Pittsburgh when couple attended Carnegie-Mellon. Be sure to check out the ModCloth site if you have a love for vintage-inspired clothing.

Spot-On With Covered Perfectly
One of hottest trends right now are the oh so chic, leopard prints.  This big-cat print is showing up everywhere in the latest clutches, coats, skirts, tops and scarves.  I am spot-on today wearing a light-weight faux fur leopard print hooded vest by Covered Perfectly.

Spot-On With Covered Perfectly

Spot-on is what Pauline Durban had in mind when she created Covered Perfectly apparel for women over 40.   In May 2012  Pauline invested her life savings into Covered Perfectly.  It was out of her personal frustrations with sleeves not covering the unflattering part of her arms, tops too short revealing too much and styles geared toward younger slim bodies.  She began designing her own line of women’s tops.

#SmileStyle
This time of the year, it’s all about the holidays and entertaining!  It is the season for wonderfully planned events for family and friends to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.  The clock says to come together to celebrate life and love for one another.  It is said, the best gifts are the ones that make people happy-and don’t have to be wrapped.  I say the best gift is a smile.  A smile is the most powerful gesture that we can all easily give one another anytime of the year, not just during the holidays. Who or what makes you smile? What is your #smilestyle?

I ask the question what is your #smilestyle because we live in a world linked by social media, where we connect with photographs and smiles matter.  By now, with the popularity of selfies, many have mastered their smiles. According to scientist, Andrew Newborn, the smile is the symbol that was rated with the highest positive emotional content.
