It’s a red alert at ModCloth for the Pantone 2015 Color of the Year. Officially, its marsala, an earthy wine red. It’s not too soon to start planning a few key pieces for spring transition looks (you know they sell out early on the new colors every year). I was approached by a ModCloth stylist to showcase my ideas for layered pieces for spring 2015. I was able to highlight the color marsala using ModCloth clothing.
What I love about ModCloth is that the online retailer specializes in vintage, vintage-inspired and indie clothing, accessories and decor. The husband and wife duo sell items from numerous different brands, and every day they offer new products. In addition to original items, they sell single authentic vintage items from various eras past. The company is headquartered in San Francisco with ties to Pennsylvania when founded in Pittsburgh when couple attended Carnegie-Mellon. Early December 2014, marsala was announced as the “it” color for this year. I focused on marsala because It is my quick and easy way to freshen up my wardrobe with latest color. After taking a gander at the ModCloth site, I see they read the memo about marsala, there was plenty to select in dresses, tops and cardigans,
I chose the above cascading cardigan since it will be flattering to my pear shape figure. The complimentary polka dot bow-tied blouse is feminine and classic, and a great layering piece. The wine booties top off this chic outfit.
Casual and edgy ModCloth in the above photo: a great comfy and warm cardigan can easily be layered up or down. Paired with a fun striped tee shirt keeps this outfit casual and fun. Leather always ups the ante with the fab booties. And finally leopard, the new neutral as per Jenna Lyons!
